#TCCTopTen – Patrick Oldacre – Sound Recordist
Week two of #TCCTopTen and we would like to introduce you to #TCCFreelancer and “Sound Recordist to the Stars”, Patrick Oldacre

1. What did you want to be when you grew up?
An astronaut until the age of twelve…and then a rockstar (Eddie van Halen, specifically).
2. What is your favourite quote?
“The universe is not only weirder than we imagine, it’s weirder than we can imagine” Terrance McKenna
3. What celebrity would you most like to meet?
Leonardo da Vinci. It’s not going to happen, is it?
4. What is your proudest moment?
I won the egg and spoon race when I was seven. Elbows like gyroscopes,me.
5. What one bit of technology could you not live without?
Spectacles. Everything else I can cope without.
6. What was the best thing you have worked on?
Almost certainly a documentary on the changing situation of Thailands elephants, and what can be done to raise awareness of the issues involved and improve their existences.
7. What was your worst fashion mistake?
They aren’t mistakes, I know those shirts look terrible.
8. What are you scared of?
Quicksand…I blame an episode of The High Chapperal I watched when I was six.
9. What did you do for your last birthday?
Worked for TCC in the day, then went to see my pals band play a gig in a Jacobean mansion.
10. If you could give any advice to your 13 year old self, what would it be?
“Don’t get a mullet when you are sixteen, the rockstar thing isn’t going to pan out if you don’t practice a bit more, and furthermore you are going to get stuck in a lift with Debbie Harry when you are twenty-one…try to think of something witty to say before then, eh?”
